Guangzhou Maritime Court Held a Constitutional Oath-taking Ceremony of Judges

February 20, 2017, Guangzhou Maritime Court held a constitutional oath-taking ceremony of judges under the supervision of Yu Mingyong, the vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the People' s Congress of Guangzhou Municipality. Huo Min (deputy secretary and executive vice-president of Leading Party Group of Guangdong High People’s Court), Deng Yuanqiang (special member of Guangdong Political and Legislative Affairs Committee), Zhou Wenjun (deputy director of Legal Construction Department of Guangdong Political and Legislative Affairs Committee), witnessed this solemn moment.

 

Ye Liudong, President of Guangzhou Maritime Court, swore on the Constitution of the People's Republic of China facing national flag. He raised a fist with his right hand and made his solemn commitment by leading 26 affiants reading out the oath. He stressed that it is an honor and responsibility to be one of the earliest judges of Guangzhou Maritime Court.

 

After the ceremony, President Ye delivered an important speech. He encouraged the judges to enhance their theoretical study of maritime trial, combine maritime trial with the sea power strategy and ‘Belt and Road initiative’, strive to serve and protect the strategies of building Guangdong into a powerful marine province, Guangdong free trade zone(FTZ) and building Guangzhou into an international shipping hub, building the international maritime justice center.
