Recently, 15 foreign seafarers demanding wages filed cases documents by the hand of their lawyers.

In accordance with the civil procedure law, if the foreign nationals entrust lawyers to join the litigation, they shall submit notarized and certified ID & POA documents to the court in jurisdiction. However, the foresaid seafarers were not able to conduct such paperwork because there were long stuck on board for some reasons.

In order to solve the problem, our clerk decided to make use of the China Mobile Micro Court, one kind of mini programs in WeChat. This program was newly developed, and its function of representative testimony ran not well. But our clerk got over difficulties, such as no cell phones and poor network on the ship. Afterwards, we got in touch with the 15 sailors and their lawyers. And finally, we completed the procedure of ID verification and POA witness.

It’s the first time that one court achieves representative testimony via China Mobile Micro Court in Mainland. And it’s also a typical case that shows GZMC safeguard the domestic and foreign parties equally.
